Feeling "damned if you do, damned if you don't" isn't just another immigrant trope. For us, it took on a life of its own. While abiding by the stereotype put us in one box, defying it put us in another, ensuring we were trapped in an endless loop of identity crises.
This helped us recognize that while interpersonal encounters might be unique to an individual, the feeling of being the 'other' is to a great degree, universal.
Join us, as we break free from this cycle, by tapping into the sense of belonging and identity that FOOD & ART have always presented.
We draw on our South Asian heritage to impart experiences that render nuance, emotion & depth to generalizations of a culture by emphasizing the hands that shaped it.
